World-famous anthropologist Richard Leakey will be the opening act as The Florida State University presents “Origins ’10: Celebrating the Birth & Life of Beginnings,” a reprise of last year’s popular series of public outreach events sponsored by the university’s Office of Research.

The Florida State University College of Law Moot Court Team has won two more first-place victories in national moot court competitions, bringing the team’s total number of first-place finishes to four in 2010.

With its fourth annual competition now completed, the Florida Book Awards has announced the winners in seven categories of books published in 2009.

A Blue Angel pilot is one of the most coveted positions in the flying world. Roaring through the air at 700 mph (twice as fast as a commercial airliner) while a mere 3 feet apart from each other is just another day at the office for a Blue Angel. And, now, Navy Lt. James Tomaszeski, of Coronado, California, a 2000 Florida State Alumnus, will join the Blue Angel team.
