State meteorologist, professor are Issues in Education guests
FSU President T.K. Wetherell and State Meteorologist Ben Nelson join forces for the November edition of "Issues in Education," Wetherell's monthly television program. The program airs Monday, November 1, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time on WFSU-TV in Tallahassee and 6:00 p.m. Central time on WFSG-TV in Panama City. The program will also air statewide on the Sun Sports.
Wetherell and co-host Suzanne Smith speak with Nelson, an FSU alumnus who at age 27 became a well-known media personality in the wake of four hurricanes this fall. Accompanying Nelson on the show is Associate Professor of Meteorology Jon Ahlquist, who has helped prepare hundreds of on-camera weather forecasters through FSU's highly acclaimed program.
The 30-minute program is intended to provide a platform for President Wetherell to discuss critical issues in education with experts in education and related fields. Prior guests have included U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, University of Miami President Donna Shalala, FAMU President Fred Gainous, Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings, Nobel Laureate Sir Harold Kroto, FSU benefactor Dr. Charlotte Maguire, director of FSU's Master Craftsman program Bob Bischoff, Jarrett Eady, FSU Student Government Association President, Coach Bobby Bowden and outstanding student volunteers. |
