Seven Days of Opening Nights kicks off

The eighth season of Seven Days of Opening Nights kicked off Feb. 16 with a surround-sound Prism concert by students from FSU's College of Music.

While tickets to a number of events are still available, a Feb. 26 appearance by acclaimed novelist Stephen King, a late addition to the schedule, is already sold out.

King agreed to step in after author Richard Russo was forced to cancel his scheduled appearance Feb. 21.

Tickets for the cancelled Russo appearance will be honored for the King appearance. Russo patrons who do not wish to attend the King performance should contact the Fine Arts Ticket Office for a refund.

Russo patrons who now wish to attend the Feb. 21 performance of jazz master Al Jarreau or any other Seven Days event can purchase tickets through the Fine Arts Ticket Office, 850-644-6500.

King, possibly the most widely read writer in the country, is best known for his horror novels. A 2003 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Book Awards, his books have been enormously successful, and are often featured on bestseller lists. King's novels include Carrie, Salem's Lot and the recent release The Cell.

Tickets are still available for many Seven Days performances. Details on the full lineup of performances are available at www.sevendaysfestival.org.
