Alumni Association names Robison first Honorary Alumnus
The Florida State University Alumni Association has named its first honorary member to its family of more than 225,000 alumni.
Jeffrey Robison, the former president of the FSU Foundation and now vice president for advancement at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, was recently accorded his new status at a special reception given in his honor at the Association's Alumni Center. A gathering of over 75 family members and
friends, many of whom had worked alongside him during his 11-plus years as Foundation head, were on hand to hear Association Chair David Mobley present the award and the response of the organization's newest member.
"During Jeff's time as president, the FSU Foundation sort of came of age. It raised more than $1,000,000,000 but more than that it made believers out of our alumni and the university community. He built a legacy that centers around a highly motivated and productive staff," explained Barry Adams, president of the FSU Alumni Association. "He was a ideal first recipient of this award."
The Alumni Association's Board of Directors presented Robison a formal resolution and a "glass
crystal book" -- emblematic of academic studies. Mobley also gave him fair warning that now that he is on the alumni rolls there will be opportunities to further develop his philanthropic willingness through alumni membership and other FSU campaigns.
Robison simply said, "I'll be waiting by the phone."
