BANNERS FROM FSU'S COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS ADORN THE CAPITOL PLAZA.
Seminole spirit floods the Capitol

Florida's capitol took on hues of garnet and golf on March 29, as FSU celebrated its annual Day at the Capitol.

Featuring performances by the Flying High Circus and the FSU Pep Band, as well as displays from across the university, the day also provided an opportunity to recognize current and former FSU students.

FSU President T.K. Wetherell recognized the contributions of FSU alumni in the Legislature. Joining him on the steps of the Old Capitol were House Speaker Allan Bense, R-Panama City, Rep. Curtis Richardson, D-Tallahassee, Marti Coley, R-Marianna, Sen. Al Lawson, D-Tallahassee, Sen. Jim King, R-Jacksonville, Rep. Dennis Baxley, R-Ocala, and Rep. Chris Smith, D-Fort Lauderdale.

Earlier in the day, football quarterback Drew Weatherford offered the opening prayer in the House of Representatives and Rhodes Scholar Garrett Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The celebration provided an opportunity to focus on FSU's goal of obtaining funds to recruit more top scholars and to move toward status as one of the nation's elite research and graduation education institutions.
